Romano developed an early interest in music and began to play the saxophone at age of 10 autodidactically.  After two years he played in a funk band with his older  brother  Alessandro, who is a pianist.


By the time he was 14 he performed with local jazz ensembles in different jazz clubs.   In 2004 he moved to Bern, where he studied for one year with  George Robert and for another with  Andy  Scherrer at the  Swiss Jazz School.

 

In February 2008 he recorded his first album "Remembering Bird - A tribute to Charlie Parker" with his brother Alessandro on piano, Giorgos Antoniou on bass, Steve Fishwick on trumpet and Steve Brown on drums. They did two tours in 2008 and 2009.

 

In 2010 he got his master degree in arts of music and pedagogy at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste.

In 2016 he moved to Berlin to start a new chapter in his life as an artist and saxophonist. He worked on new compositions which will come out on the new album "punkt 6".

Romano is working in different music and art projects and he's the head of LIVEJAZZ.CH a professional music-agency which he founded in 2004 together with his brother Alessandro.
